Ownership & Funding

Who owns MIND CRON

MIND CRON is owned and funded by the person who operates it, and it is run by a small independent editorial team. There is no parent media group, no outside shareholder, no political party’s media arm, and no business empire with interests in the sectors we cover. The people who make the decisions here are the people who do the work, and there is nobody above them to answer to for the angle of a story.

We keep the ownership plain because it is the single most useful thing a reader can know about a publication. Ownership shapes what a newsroom is willing to say. Ours is structured so that no proprietor can ring this desk to kill a story, and so that there is nowhere to hide: if MIND CRON publishes something indefensible, the people who own it published it.

No state money, no party, no hidden backer

We take no money from any government, agency or official body anywhere in the world, and we carry no government messaging dressed up as coverage. We have no affiliation with any political party, campaign or candidate in any country, and we do not accept money from them. Political advertising that hides who is paying for it is refused wherever it originates.

There is no silent investor whose interests we protect and no benefactor whose subjects are off-limits. If that ever changed, this page would say so before the money was spent, not in a footnote discovered later. A backer we could not name would be a backer we could not take.

Where the money comes from

Display advertising is the only revenue MIND CRON has. The banner units on the site are filled by the Adsterra advertising network, which sells the space to advertisers and pays us a share of what it earns. That is the whole model. There is no subscription, no paywall, no membership, no merchandise and no events business.

Because the space is sold through a network rather than by us, we usually do not know which advertiser bought a given impression until it appears on the page. That is inconvenient for selling and useful for everyone else: a reporter cannot go easy on a company whose identity they do not know. When the economics change, this page changes with them.

What we do not sell

We accept no sponsorships. We publish no sponsored posts, native advertising or paid articles of any kind, so nothing on this site that looks like a story was paid for by anyone. We do not sell links, do not accept payment for placing a link in an article, and do not run affiliate arrangements. We do not license our audience to third parties and we do not sell reader data.

We are asked, regularly, to do each of these things, often by people who assume every site does. The answer is the same every time and it is not negotiable. A revenue stream that requires the reader to guess whether a page was bought is a revenue stream we would rather not have.

How advertising is kept away from the journalism

Because the team is small, the separation between money and reporting is procedural rather than architectural, and it holds because the rules are few and absolute. Advertiser identities are never circulated with the day’s story list. No advertiser is told what is coming. No advertiser sees copy before publication, and no story is shown to a buyer for comment as a courtesy.

When an advertiser asks for a story to be softened or pulled, the answer is no, and the request itself may become something we report. When a company that appears in a banner here becomes the subject of a story, the story is written exactly as it would be otherwise. How this fits our wider rules is in our editorial standards, and what advertisers agree to is on our advertise page.

What advertising cannot buy

It cannot buy coverage. It cannot buy protection from coverage. It cannot buy a review score, a placement on the front page, a mention in a story or a softer headline. It cannot buy the removal of accurate reporting, which our corrections policy refuses regardless of who asks. It buys a banner unit on a page, served by a network, and nothing else.

Conflicts of interest

The people who run MIND CRON do not hold stakes in the companies on our beat or take paid work from parties, governments or businesses we cover. Where a writer has a personal or financial interest in a story, they declare it and hand the story to someone else. We pay our own way rather than accept trips, gifts, review units with conditions or favours that could buy a slant, and we say so when a product was loaned for review.

Registered details

We do not publish the operator’s personal name, a company registration number or a street address on this page, and we do not invent placeholders for them. The governing law and the registered details of the operator are confirmed in writing to anyone with a genuine need who writes to support@mindcron.com and says why. Regulators, courts and rights holders receive them promptly. Marketing lists do not.

Keeping this page honest

If the ownership changes, if an investor appears, or if a new revenue stream is added, this page is updated first, before any announcement elsewhere. The wider account of who we are is on our about page, and errors here are fixed the way errors in our reporting are fixed. If something on this page reads as thin or evasive, say so: write to support@mindcron.com and ask the specific question.
