Platinum Motor Group, a Trowbridge-based motor group that operates several dealerships across the southwest, has acquired Pebley Beach, a dealer group that operates Hyundai and Suzuki dealerships in Swindon and Cirencester. The deal, which was completed on Monday, February 12, 2024, was for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition will expand Platinum Motor Group’s portfolio and presence in the region, and will add two new brands to its existing range of Renault, Dacia, Nissan, Toyota, Skoda, and Hyundai.
Platinum Motor Group and Pebley Beach have a mutual interest and respect for each other, as they are both long-established and reputable businesses in the motor industry. Platinum Motor Group was founded by former Managing Director Rodney Cuff in Frome, and has grown steadily over the years, becoming one of the leading players in the southwest. Pebley Beach was founded by former Managing Director Dominic Threlfall in Swindon, and has won several awards and accolades for its customer service and performance. The deal was initiated by Threlfall, who approached Platinum Motor Group about his retirement plans and his interest in selling his business to a trusted and compatible partner.
