This matchup marks the first meeting between the two teams this season. Following their game against Bingham, the Miners Red will face Herriman next Wednesday, again on their home ice. The excitement doesn’t stop there—the Park City inner-program rivalry between the Miners Red and Miners White is scheduled for November 27 at Park City Ice Arena.
The Miners Red won’t be traveling for a game until December 2, allowing them ample time to prepare and strategize for their upcoming matches.
Wasatch Football’s Season Ends in Defeat to Brighton
The Wasatch football team saw their season come to a close on Friday, falling 26-0 to Brighton. Brighton dominated the game, scoring six points in the first quarter, seven in the second, and thirteen in the third, while effectively shutting out Wasatch in the second-round playoff contest.
Brighton relied heavily on their ground game, accumulating 327 rushing yards from just one completed pass. With this victory, Brighton advances to face Olympus Friday night at home.
Wasatch concludes their season with a 3-8 record under new head coach Jody Morgan, who took the helm this fall after coaching stints at Riverton High and Utah Tech University.
South Summit Football Falls to Delta, Ends Season at 4-7
South Summit’s football season wrapped up on Friday with a 28-17 loss to Delta. The team struggled early, entering halftime with a 21-3 deficit. They fought back in the second half but ultimately couldn’t overcome Delta’s lead.
Logan Woustenhume and Brody Larson scored touchdowns for South Summit, connecting with quarterbacks Blake Osguthorpe and Owen Mair. Additionally, Oscar Dominguez contributed with a 36-yard field goal and two extra points.
South Summit finishes the season with an overall record of 4-7 and a 3-2 mark in regional play.
North Summit Dominates North Sevier, Advances to State Semifinals
In a commanding performance, the North Summit football team crushed North Sevier 47-6 on Friday at home, securing their spot in the state semifinals. North Summit exploded out of the gates with a 20-0 lead in the first quarter, adding 13 points in the second and 14 in the third.
Jake Smith and McKade Nelson were standout players, each rushing for two touchdowns. North Summit is set to face third-seeded Kanab on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Zions Bank Stadium in the semifinals. A win would see them advance to play the winner of Beaver and Milford on November 16 at Southern Utah University.
