SC Procures Healthcare Plan for Entire Judiciary

In a landmark decision, the Supreme Court (SC) of the Philippines has procured a comprehensive healthcare plan for the entire judiciary. This initiative, effective from July 8, 2024, aims to provide uniform healthcare coverage for all judicial officers, employees, and their qualified dependents. The move is part of the SC’s Strategic Plan for Judicial Innovations 2022-2027, which focuses on enhancing the welfare and efficiency of its internal stakeholders.

The new healthcare plan covers all incumbent justices of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Court of Tax Appeals, and Sandiganbayan, as well as judges from the first- and second-level courts. Additionally, all officials and employees across all court levels are included in this plan. This comprehensive coverage ensures that every member of the judiciary has access to essential health services and products with minimal personal contributions.

Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo emphasized the importance of this initiative in protecting the physical and psychological health of the judiciary.
